Bill White, St. Louis Cardinal All-Star first baseman, New York Yankees broadcaster, and past National League President, was also Jim Tugerson’s teammate and roommate when both played for the 1955 Dallas Eagles in the Texas League.  White spoke of Tugerson’s impact on his career both on and off the diamond and included those comments in the book’s foreword, in a letter read at a tribute for Tugerson in July, 2008, and in conversations with the author.
